Privacy policy
GLP Observer is a static price-tracking site published by GLP Observer (“we”, “us”) at glp.observer. It has no accounts, ads or cross-site tracking scripts (it measures visits with Google Analytics 4, described below), it never asks about your health or insurance, and we do not sell or share anything about visitors. The only thing you can submit is an optional email signup for price and policy updates, described below.
What does GLP Observer collect?
- No accounts or comments. The only form is the optional email signup described below. It asks for your email address and nothing else.
- No advertising, affiliate or cross-site tracking scripts. Fonts and images are served from this site.
- Analytics. We count visits with Google Analytics 4, described below. It is the only third-party script.
What is stored in my browser?
If you switch between light and dark, the choice is saved in your browser’s local storage under the key theme. The cost builder writes the options you pick into the page address so you can reload or share the comparison; anyone you send that link to can see them. Site search downloads a static index and runs in your browser. If you close the email signup box, a note is saved in local storage so it doesn’t reappear for 30 days. The page address saved with a signup never includes cost builder options.
What do server logs record?
Like any website, the hosting provider that serves GLP Observer processes standard request data (IP address, browser user agent, requested URL and time) to deliver pages and protect the service. We do not combine it with other data or use it to identify visitors.
What happens when I email you?
We use your message and address only to reply and, for price reports, to check the source. Emailing us does not add you to a mailing list; only the signup form does, and only after you confirm.
What happens when I sign up for emails?
Some pages have an optional email signup form. There's no checkbox to tick; the short note under each button says what you'll get and how often. If you sign up, GLP Observer stores:
- your email address;
- which form you used and the page address where you signed up, without anything after the path (no search terms, calculator inputs or other values typed into the page);
- when you signed up and, later, when you confirmed;
- which version of the signup wording you saw;
- a shortened, one-way code derived from your IP address, used only to stop automated abuse. We can't turn it back into your IP address.
No health data. The form never asks about your health, conditions, medications, doses or treatment, and we don't attach that kind of information to your email address.
Confirmation first. Before GLP Observer sends any update, we'll send one email asking you to confirm. Nothing else is sent unless you confirm. Sending hasn't started yet, so for now your address is only stored.
How we use it. Only to send the emails described next to the form and to honor your unsubscribe. GLP Observer is non-commercial: emails contain no ads, affiliate links or promotions.
Who processes signup data for us?
- Railway (railway.com) hosts this site and the database that stores signups.
- Google (Google Sheets) holds a private copy of the list so we can view it. It isn't shared publicly.
- When sending starts, the email delivery provider will be named here before the first email goes out.
These services process the data only to provide their service to us.
Do you sell or share my information?
No. GLP Observer doesn't sell or share personal information, doesn't rent or trade email addresses, and runs no advertising or retargeting pixels. We never pass your email address to vendors, clinics, advertisers or data brokers.
Do you honor Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track?
Yes. We treat a Global Privacy Control (GPC) or Do Not Track signal from your browser as a request to opt out. When either signal is on, our analytics script does not load at all.
What does the analytics script record?
We use Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC, as our processor) to count visits and see which pages are read. It is not loaded on search-result pages, so what you search for is never sent. It records the page address without any query string or calculator inputs, the referring page, browser and device type, and approximate location (country and region) derived by Google; Google does not log or store IP addresses for Analytics 4. Outside the EU, UK and Switzerland it sets first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_*) to tell new visits from return visits; in those regions it runs without analytics cookies. Advertising features, Google signals and ad personalization are turned off, data is kept for 14 months, and it loads only after the page has finished loading. It does not load at all when GPC or Do Not Track is on.
How long do you keep my email address, and how do I unsubscribe?
We keep it until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. Every email will have a one-click unsubscribe link, and you can also email privacy@glp.observer. Unsubscribes take effect right away. After you unsubscribe, we keep only your address on a do-not-email list so we never email you again, unless you ask us to delete it completely.
Can I see, correct or delete my data?
Yes, wherever you live. Email privacy@glp.observer and we'll respond within 30 days. We'll never ask for more than your email address to unsubscribe. People under 18 should not sign up. See also our consumer health data notice.
Is the site meant for children?
No. GLP Observer is a general-audience reference about prescription prices, it is not directed to children under 13, and it does not knowingly collect information from children. People under 18 should not sign up for emails.
Will this policy change?
If the site adds anything else that handles visitor data, this page will say so before that feature goes live, and the review date below will change.
How do I make a privacy request?
Email privacy@glp.observer. Other addresses are on the contact page. Policy reviewed .
