How much is the Wegovy pill without insurance?

Novo Nordisk prices the Wegovy pill by strength: $149 for each month of 1.5 mg, $199 for 4 mg and $299 for 9 mg and 25 mg, where one month is one bottle of 30 tablets[1]. The same prices appear on NovoCare Pharmacy’s home-delivery page[3].

There is no separate new-patient intro price for the pill; the $199 intro offer applies to the Wegovy pen[1].

What does a year of the Wegovy pill cost?

Twelve 30-tablet bottles at a single strength would cost $1,788 at 1.5 mg, $2,388 at 4 mg and $3,588 at 9 or 25 mg. Real costs depend on the strengths your prescriber chooses and how long you stay on each; this is arithmetic, not a plan. Because a pill month is 30 days, twelve bottles cover 360 days.

Is the Wegovy pill cheaper than the Wegovy pen?

At the lowest strengths, yes. The 1.5 mg pill is $149 a month against $349 for any standard pen dose ($199 for a new patient’s first two pen fills)[1]. At 9 mg and 25 mg the pill is $299, still $50 under the $349 pen. Clinical equivalence between pill strengths and pen doses is a question for your prescriber, not a price table.

How much is the Wegovy pill with insurance or Medicare?

With commercial coverage, the savings offer can bring the pill down to as little as $25 a month (maximum savings $100 a month)[1]. For Medicare, Novo says eligible patients pay $50 a month for the Wegovy pen and pill under the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge[2], which KFF says runs July 1, 2026 to December 31, 2027[4].

Where else can I buy the Wegovy pill?

TrumpRx.gov lists the Wegovy pill at $149 a month next to an "Original Price" of $1,349[5]. Ro shows the same $149 starting price against a $1,349 list price[6]; Hims and Hers, WeightWatchers, LifeMD and Mochi also advertise it from $149[7][8][9][10]. Telehealth programs add their own membership fees on top of medication; see programs for each fee.

Is there a cheaper GLP-1 pill?

Lilly’s Foundayo (orforglipron) pill also starts at $149 a month self-pay, and through December 31, 2026 its 2.5 mg strength is temporarily $149 and 5.5 mg $199[11]. The Ozempic pill, approved for type 2 diabetes, starts at $149[12]. See Foundayo cost and the cheapest GLP-1 page.

What should I do next?

  1. Check your coverage first. If a commercial plan covers Wegovy pill, a manufacturer savings card can cut the copay to as little as $25. See GLP-1 savings cards.
  2. On Medicare? Savings cards don’t apply; the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge sets a $50 copay for some weight-loss GLP-1s.
  3. Paying cash? Compare the self-pay routes in the table above, including membership fees, in the cost builder.
  4. Ask your prescriber which drug and dose fit you. GLP Observer compares prices only.
