Rybelsus, Trulicity, Saxenda and Victoza cost: list prices, savings cards and what is changing
As of October 19, 2026, the older GLP-1 brands have no manufacturer self-pay price. Trulicity lists at $1,006.93 a month and Saxenda at $1,349.02, and Novo publishes no Victoza price. Novo is replacing Rybelsus with the Ozempic pill and discontinuing Saxenda, and generic liraglutide is FDA-approved.
What does each of these GLP-1 brands cost?
| Brand and form | Published list price | With commercial coverage | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Trulicity (Eli Lilly) dulaglutide, weekly pen (0.75, 1.5, 3, 4.5 mg) | $1,006.93/mo[1] | as little as $25 for a 1- to 3-month fill[2] | Marketed, type 2 diabetes |
| Rybelsus (Novo Nordisk) semaglutide, daily tablet (3, 7, 14 mg) | $675/mo from Jan 1, 2027[3] | Rybelsus offer page now opens the Ozempic savings offer[4] | Being replaced by the Ozempic pill[5] |
| Saxenda (Novo Nordisk) liraglutide 3 mg, daily pen | $1,349.02[6] | Depends on your plan[6] | Being discontinued; last wholesaler shipments late January 2027[7] |
| Victoza (Novo Nordisk) liraglutide 1.2 or 1.8 mg, daily pen | Not published on NovoCare[8] | Coverage check only[8] | Marketed; first generic approved Dec 23, 2024[9] |
None of these four is sold through LillyDirect or NovoCare Pharmacy at a cash price the way Zepbound, Wegovy and Ozempic are. If you pay cash, the pharmacy sets the price. We do not publish pharmacy or discount-card quotes, because they change daily and are rarely dated.
Is Rybelsus being discontinued?
Novo Nordisk’s Rybelsus support page now opens with "RYBELSUS® is being replaced by Ozempic® pill" and tells patients their prescriber will guide the change. Novo says Ozempic tablets of 1.5, 4 and 9 mg work like Rybelsus tablets of 3, 7 and 14 mg and have the same efficacy and safety[5]. The old Rybelsus savings-offer address now loads the Ozempic savings offer[4].
That matters for cost because the Ozempic pill has a self-pay price and Rybelsus never did. Novo lists every Ozempic pen and tablet strength at $1,027.51[10], but sells the 1.5 mg Ozempic pill for $149 a month to self-pay patients[11]. Every Ozempic price is on our Ozempic cost page.
How much is Trulicity without insurance?
Lilly gives Trulicity a list price of $1,006.93 a month, defined as four pens. The figure is the wholesale acquisition cost from AnalySource, accessed January 1, 2026. Lilly says only your insurer or pharmacy can tell you what you will actually pay[1]. At list price, 13 four-week fills a year come to $13,090.09. That is arithmetic, not a quote.
With commercial insurance that covers Trulicity, the Trulicity Savings Card can bring a 1-, 2- or 3-month fill down to as little as $25. Lilly defines one month as 28 days and up to four pens, caps savings at $150 a month and $1,950 a year, and says the current card terms end on 12/31/2026[2]. Lilly also donates medicines to the Lilly Cares Foundation, a separate nonprofit that helps qualifying people get Lilly medicines at no cost[1]. Lilly publishes no LillyDirect self-pay price for Trulicity.
What is happening to Saxenda?
NovoCare carries a discontinuation notice: Novo Nordisk will discontinue Saxenda, with last shipments to wholesalers in late January 2027. Novo says this is a portfolio decision because alternatives are available and use has declined, and not the result of a safety or quality concern[7]. Until then, Saxenda’s list price is $1,349.02, and Novo says what you pay depends on your insurance coverage[6].
A generic already exists. On August 28, 2025, Teva announced FDA approval and US launch of a generic Saxenda (liraglutide injection), which it called the first generic GLP-1 indicated for weight loss[12].
Is there a generic Victoza or Saxenda?
Yes. On December 23, 2024, FDA approved the first generic referencing Victoza (liraglutide injection 18 mg/3 mL), from Hikma, for type 2 diabetes[9]. FDA’s 2024 first-generics list also records a generic of Byetta (exenatide injection) from Amneal, approved November 19, 2024[13]. Teva’s generic Saxenda followed in August 2025[12].
Liraglutide is a daily injection; semaglutide and tirzepatide are weekly. No manufacturer of generic liraglutide publishes a cash price we could verify, so we list none. There is no FDA-approved generic semaglutide or tirzepatide. See the semaglutide cost and tirzepatide cost pages for what those cost today.
Will these prices change in 2027?
Some will. Effective January 1, 2027, Novo Nordisk will cut the list price of Wegovy, Ozempic and Rybelsus to $675 a month for every dose. Novo says this does not change its direct-to-patient self-pay prices[3].
Separately, Medicare’s negotiated price for the semaglutide group (Ozempic, Rybelsus and Wegovy) takes effect on January 1, 2027: $274 for a 30-day supply, against a 2024 list price of $959. CMS gives package examples of $276.78 for 30 Rybelsus 7 mg tablets and $385.63 for four Wegovy 2.4 mg pens[14]. The negotiated price applies in Medicare Part D, not to commercial insurance or cash buyers.
